Occhii’s Unreplicable Garments are created from industrial waste offcuts from Russia’s Pavlov Posad shawl manufacturer, that are hand-overdyed, tie-dyed, bonded on organic cotton and quilted on 100% recycled down. The designers are introducing new materials to their creative vocabulary – among them are natural faux shearling from French-sourced local wool + hemp blend (hemp is one of the most environmentally-friendly materials that are currently available), recycled polyester, and recycled cotton + modall blend for the jerseys. Technique explorations include hand-dyeing of deadstock and organic cotton with natural plants, quilting and patchworking with the shawl offcuts and vintage kimono fabric scraps from Japan, and hand-knitting strips of deadstock fabrics into textured knits. The designers’ aspiration is to create an alternative to trend-driven disposable fashion by creating memorable one of a kind pieces that last for years to come. @occhiinyc photography by @kevdre #sustainablefashion #recycle #reclaimed #fashion #artisanal #handmade #handtied #tieanddye #natural #resources #uniquepieces #ecofashion #occhiiny #publicimagepr @plan8paris #nature #savetheplanet
